Article 1408 of the Code of Civil Procedure
The creditor may, in the application for an order for payment, request that, in the event of opposition, the case be immediately referred to the court which he considers competent.
When a company invoices customers located outside of its immediate geographical environment (the head office for example) you must specify this point in the general sales conditions.
In the case of an unpaid invoice, the judge may therefore indicate that in the event of an objection, the competent court will be the one designated in the GCS(article 1408).
Thus the opposition can become costly for the debtor who will have to travel to the court designated by the order.
