RGPD: 56% increase in complaints to the CNIL

RGPD compliance

Since May 25, when the RGPD came into force, Europe has had a brand new framework in place within its member states.

Questioned by NextInpact, the CNIL puts forward the figure of 2770 complaints recorded since the entry into force of the regulation, that is to say about 1000 more compared to the same period of the previous year.

For the commission, this development "testifies to the fact that citizens have taken a strong hold of the General Data Protection Regulation". Among the possible explanations, the "media spotlight on data protection" comes first, with the regulation, but also with the Cambridge Analytica case, in particular.
